What can I take with me?
You can transfer your normal Household Goods and Personal Effects
to Qatar, albeit you must not import Alcoholic beverages, Pork products,
Wireless transmitters and receivers, items made from Ivory. Please check

Effective 30/09/2009 all people relocating to Qatar to take up employment
must have a letter from their employer, written in Arabic and in original format, stamped
and signed by an authorised signatory on the companies official letter head. Also, a clear
copy of the shippers passport with the residence permit (VISA) page. All other standard
import regulations apply as per the FIDI guide.
Computer equipment requires a separate clearance procedure through
Qatar customs, if included in the shipment the specification should be sent prior
to shipping to obtain a Qatar telecommunications approval. CD's & DVDs' are subject
to censorship department approval, this process normally takes up to 14 days.
All shipments are subject to 100% physical inspection.
